Shingle Restore Pro treats asphalt shingle roofs in the Phoenix metro. That is the whole business: one kind of roof, one treatment, and an honest look before anything goes on.
The owner is Mark Voorhies. He comes to roofs from a trade where the work bakes in the same sun your roof does.
Where we come from
Mark already runs a court resurfacing business in the Valley. Pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts. Those surfaces sit in full Arizona sun all summer, and keeping them in shape means putting down surface treatments evenly over big areas, right through the Arizona summer.
The crews, trucks and spray equipment for Shingle Restore Pro come from that trade. So do the habits: protect everything next to the work area, spray at the rate the product calls for, and clean up before you leave. A shingle roof is a different surface from a court, and we treat it that way, but the discipline carries over.
Why shingle roofs
When a shingle roof starts to look tired, the answer most owners hear is a new roof. Sometimes that is the right answer. Sometimes the roof is drying out and faded but still sound, and there is another option worth knowing about.
We started this company to offer that option, and to be straight about when it doesn’t fit. A treatment is not for every roof, and saying so is part of the job. If a new roof is what you need, you’ll hear it from us, along with the photos to take to a roofer.

How we work
- We look first. Every job starts with an evaluation of the actual roof, slope by slope, with photos.
- We explain what we see. You get the photos and a plain account of the good, the bad and the uncertain.
- We say no when a roof is past treating. We don’t do repairs or replacements, so we have no reason to steer you either way.
- Asphalt shingles only. We don’t treat tile, foam or metal roofs.
- We tell you the other side. Some shingle makers, Owens Corning among them, have published bulletins advising against field-applied rejuvenators. You should know that before you decide, so we bring it up ourselves.
Our step-by-step process shows how a job runs from the first look to the return visit.
The product we use
We use a soybean oil treatment called APEX-1132, made by SoyLei Innovations in Ames, Iowa. SoyLei describes it on its product page as “a spray-applied rejuvenation treatment, not a replacement for repairs or a film-forming roof coating.” That matches how we talk about it. It is a maintenance step for a sound roof, not a fix for a damaged one.
When we describe what the product does, we quote SoyLei and link to the source, so you can read the maker’s claims for yourself. The details are on our treatment page.
What you won’t hear from us
Some things get said a lot in this line of work. We’d rather not say them unless we can back them up, and right now we can’t.
- We won’t put a number of years on what a treatment adds to your roof. We found no published field study that shows it for a roof in Phoenix, so we don’t claim it.
- We won’t call the product proven for Arizona heat. Its published lab work ran cooler than a dark roof here can get, and our page on Arizona heat and asphalt shingles lays out the numbers.
- We won’t tell you a treatment beats a new roof when your roof is worn out.
- We won’t rush you. A roof decision can wait a week while you check your shingle warranty and talk to your HOA.
Where we work
We are starting in the Phoenix metro, where Mark’s court business already works. You can see the towns we cover on our service areas page. If you’re not sure whether we reach your street, ask when you book. We plan to grow from there, one well-done roof at a time.
Meet us at your roof
The best way to see how we work is to have us look at your roof. Book a free roof evaluation and you’ll get photos, a straight answer and no pressure either way.
