For a typical single-family shingle roof, the work usually fits in one visit. The exact time depends on the roof’s size, pitch and height, how much prep it needs, and the weather. You get a time window for your own roof after the free evaluation.
What fills the day
- Prep. Clearing leaves and debris off the roof, and covering plants, cars, windows and anything else near the roofline.
- Mixing. The concentrate is mixed with water on site. SoyLei’s product page says one gallon of concentrate makes six gallons ready to spray, covering “about 1,200 sq ft” of roof.
- Spraying. SoyLei’s application brochure calls for “smooth, overlapping passes for even coverage.”
- Cleanup. Uncovering everything, dealing with any overspray, and a walk around the house with you.
Who does the work
Our crews and spray equipment come from Mark Voorhies’s court resurfacing business in the Phoenix area, where getting an even finish across a big surface is everyday work on pickleball, tennis and basketball courts. We follow SoyLei’s safety data sheet, wear protective gear, and protect plants, cars and windows from overspray. Keep people and pets out of the work area while we spray.
What can change the date
Weather. SoyLei’s brochure says to check the forecast and confirm “there is no rain, strong wind, or severe weather expected during or after application.” In monsoon season that can mean moving a date at short notice. Our page on the best time of year to treat a roof explains how we plan around it.
Afterward, stay off the roof. SoyLei warns that “Freshly treated shingles can be slippery.”
